This is right behind my license.
They will not go through your cell phone. If something happens to you, this will make it easier for officials to contact your next-of-kin. I just wrote out all of my information on three sticky notes, folded it up and put it right behind my license because they will retrieve your license to identify you. That's it. A simple thing... just make sure you keep it up to date!

Thank you for the suggestion, Stephanie. I'm going to go do this right now!
ReplyDeleteStephanie,
ReplyDeleteHi again, it's Tracey from Cincy. I wanted to let you know that Ohio has started a new thing that helps with this. When I went to renew my license in Sept they asked me if I wanted to have an emergency contact basically attached to my license. I'm not sure what they called it but I was able to list Eric and my Mom. My understanding is that if they pull up my number, there is a place where they can then access their numbers in case of an emergency. After hearing how long it took for you to find out about Matt and not being able to be with him for his last moments, I JUMPED at the chance! I am usually very cautious about giving out much info, I had my SS# taken off way before the state mandated it. So, I don't know that I would have done this before hearing of your ordeal. I now have a sense of peace knowing that Eric should know very soon after something was to happen to me and that is a Huge comfort! THANK YOU for that!!
Hopefully MI has this now or within the near future.....and I hope that anyone reading this finds out if their state has it. It sounds like it could really make a huge difference in a crisis.
Thanks again,
Tracey Power
You're in our prayers every night!
